Photography captured my imagination since early
childhood. Although I was born in Germany, I grew up in South Africa which
brought me in contact with the abundant and magnificent wildlife and plant life
of Africa. I had the opportunity to live for a year in Botswana and have
travelled extensively throughout Southern Africa. This has fostered a deep love
for the natural environment and with my interest in photography it was a natural
development that I would concentrate on taking images of nature. When observing
nature one can get glimpses of paradise with the array of colours shapes and
forms that abound on our globe. I am particularly endeared to the strong
contrast and colours that can be observed during storms or early morning and
late afternoons. The colours shapes and creatures that are in my images are a
reflection of a fraction of a second that I have had the privilege to record on
film. I truly hope that I can enrich your vision with the displayed images.
During 1995 we decided to relocate to New Zealand and
lived there for five years. New
Zealand being the small growing islands that it is, exposed me to volcanoes,
streams filled with trout and enchanting country sides.
As a family we
relocated to Canberra in Australia during 2000. The immediate surroundings
reminded me a lot of Africa with its abundant flora and fauna. Every available time is spent documenting
and exploring the different natural and geographical features of the Australian
Capital Territories
and adjoining states.
